I believe that a fulfilling life comes from integrating all parts of ourselves: our beliefs, our emotions, our behaviour and our relationships. Forming a strong relationship with my clients, I help clients to discover where their strengths lie, and how best to apply them to the areas that need more attention.

A long-time teacher of philosophy at the University of Toronto, I am uniquely capable of listening to clients, helping them to reflect in ways that are truly life altering.

Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy

I am a Registered Social Worker and Canadian Certified Counsellor who has been trained in Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT). It is a modality that helps to regulate the rhythms and social interactions that can lie behind both acute episodes and the low-grade depression that often accompanies successful medication regimens. IPSRT can help you:

  • To learn to articulate, chart, and discuss your moods and the other components of bipolar disorder.
  • To create structured sleeping, work, and social patterns that can help ward off new episodes of bipolar disorder.
  • To grow stronger social relationships, something both worthwhile in itself and that can improve your overall mood.
  • To improve your moods, returning not only to a dull state of low-grade depression, but to live happily on a day-to-day basis.

IPSRT helps clients manage not only the emotional but also the physiological aspects of their illness, developing rhythms in their life that can help keep episodes at bay. It will help you develop life-long skills for managing your bipolar disorder.
